چکیده

Frequently, human psychology opposes evolution and learning on the basis of their supposed differences in flexibility. Humans are thought to be more flexibly intelligent than other animals, because they lost most of their instincts. But, as William James proposed, we think that it might turn out that just the contrary is true. Human may have more instincts, more powerful instincts to learn for instance. Indeed, the view that instincts are rigid, correspond to fixed, innate, pattern of behaviour that do not enable the organisms to adapt to its ontologically relevant environment, seems to be an ancient believe of many scientist in the social sciences. This is however, nowadays, not the view of many researchers in the field of behavioural biology and ethology. Instincts do take into account information from the environment, that is basically what they are designed for, they provide an organism with behavioural responses to certain environmental stimuli. They are surely not about acting as if no environment existed.

Toward Evolutionary Innovation Theory

Abstract: Innovations, commercialized by new or old established firms, located at the core of industrial renewal process. The innovation concept has suffered transformations, along with the evolution of the models that try to explain and understand the innovation process. The innovative process corresponds to all activities that generate technological changes and the dynamic interaction between...

Non-linear stochastic inversion of 2D gravity data using evolution strategy (ES)

In the current work, a 2D non-linear inverse problem of gravity data is solved using the evolution strategies (ES) to find the thickness of a sedimentary layer in a deep-water situation where a thick sedimentary layer usually exists. Such problems are widely encountered in the early stages of petroleum explorations where potential field data are used to find an initial estimate of the basin geo...

A Continuous Plane Model to Machine Layout Problems Considering Pick-Up and Drop-Off Points: An Evolutionary Algorithm

One of the well-known evolutionary algorithms inspired by biological evolution is genetic algorithm (GA) that is employed as a robust and global optimization tool to search for the best or near-optimal solution with the search space. In this paper, this algorithm is used to solve unequalsized machines (or intra-cell) layout problems considering pick-up and drop-off (input/output) points. Such p...

Analysis of the Evolutionary Game Theory in Agent-Based Computational Systems: OPEC Oil-Producing Countries

This study suggests a new method for analysing the behavioral economics issues in the framework of game theory. In this context, bounded rational agents interact with one another in a strategic manner. Therefore, conventional economic modeling techniques are unable to explaine this kind of interactions. In this regard, evolutionary game theory and agent-based modeling are known as the most suit...
